Parent Family Engagement
Title I Parent and Family Engagement
The Monroe County Board of Education is committed to meaningful parent and family engagement as an essential part of student success. In accordance with Title I, Part A of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), the district and its Title I schools provide opportunities for parents and families to participate in planning, reviewing, and improving Title I programs and student achievement.
Parents and families are encouraged to:
- Participate in Title I parent and family engagement meetings and activities.
- Provide input on the District Parent and Family Engagement Plan and school-level plans.
- Participate in the development and review of the School-Parent Compact.
- Provide feedback regarding Title I programs, services, and student needs.
- Participate in parent conferences, workshops, surveys, and other school activities.
- Serve on committees and advisory groups, including the Student Advisory Council and other stakeholder groups, when applicable.
- Communicate regularly with teachers, principals, and district staff regarding student progress and educational needs.
The district and schools provide information and opportunities for participation, to the extent practicable, in a format and language that parents and family members can understand. Reasonable accommodations are provided to support participation by parents and family members with disabilities and other identified needs.
